If it is not obvious yet, I like the kashmir line of flavors from Tangiers. Kashmir Prune is one of the more recent releases from Tangiers and I have been smoking it quite a bit recently.
The smell on this tobacco in very spicy and floral with a richness that I can’t quite describe. There is a mild fruitiness, but the “kashmir” is the most distinct scent. As a general rule, I like my hookah shisha to be contained in some sort of container, with a lid. Many would consider this a trivial component of hookah smoking, but I’m under the impression that it keeps the shisha fresher for a longer period of time. Not only that, but once you get down to the last scraps of shisha, it is much easier to clear out a hard container than it is a flexible bag. This is one reason I was skeptical about trying out Fumari shisha, of which I had only recently become aware. There is something special about the first time that you are really let down by one of you favorite brands. Shisha on the Beach was my first try at the Mix line from Nakhla and I have found myself disappointed by one of my favorite brands. Nakhla Mix Shisha on the Beach is a big bowl of meh.
Let’s go into a little more detail here. This is supposedly a Sex on the Beach flavor that is based on the drink by the same name. The drink uses orange juice and cranberry juice, these two being the prominent flavors I would expect from this tobacco. You’ve all heard about my love of Nakhla Double Apple. When I first started smoking Double Apple, I was always told to avoid the boxed version of this tobacco and try to find the jar or the can. It had been said that the jars and tins are always fresher and the boxes tended to be dried out or old and stale. I never really questioned it. Mint is the old standby that everyone has tried and some people love. I am one of those people that loves mint tobacco and I keep it on hand at a times. The Mizo offering from Nakhla is one of the best mint flavors on the planet. This is a review for the boxed version of Mizo mint as opposed to the plastic tub version. There is apparently a difference. I’ll find it eventually.
Let’s get own to brass tacks. This tobacco is great. I’m just going to say that up front. This tobacco has no dye of any kind and is a natural product. The smell is distinctly minty and it punches you in the nose. It is awesome smelling and very fresh with a scent similar to that of fresh mint leaves. This does not smell like artificial mint gum.
The smell is pretty much the same as the scent. It’s a beautiful mint flavor with a touch of sweetness and a very powerful cooling effect on the throat and lungs. There is a distinctly vegetal flavor that reminds me of chewing on mint leaves when I was a child. don’t expect this to taste like minty candy. There are other mints on the market that will offer you an artificial mint candy. This is not it.
The smoke is smooth and flavorful, but the cooling effect is a bit much for many people. The clouds are big and puffy, as they often are with the Mizo line.
9 out of 10. This is really one of the best mints on the planet. It’s affordable and of a high quality. Get this mint tobacco. It is one of my top two mint tobaccos.
