Default Where's the cleaning instructions?

I bought a hookah at Hookah Kings in Albuquerque, New Mexico and I asked them how to clean it and they looked at me like I was stupid and gave me no answers.

I know how to take it apart. I have the brushes.
I clean the vase, stem core, and bowl after every use, but I still get an after residual favor.
How do you know if it is okay to run water through the hoses? Do you use, like, dishsoap in the hoses? I am worried about ruining the hoses. Plus, I was cleaning it last week and I unscrewed the light cones( hose ports) and some little plastic thread covers broke into a million pieces, so I had to Jerry-Rig the darn thing to get it to work again. Ya I know quit being cheap! I am strapped for cash right now though. Next month will be better.

Help please!

im sure this has been said in a few posts. I know because i've said it. Lemon juice, a lil baking soda, and warm water, and you're golden.

if you use dishsoap in the hoses, theres a chance you might not rinse it all out, so to be safe, dont use dishsoap, i normally just pour some of that sweet mix i mentioned above in, let it out, rinse, repeat till its all nice and clean.

that could have been locktite, or a plastic thread sealant that chipped off. Being a paintball player, i simply turn to my good old friend teflon to get me by. like 99 cents or cheaper for a roll that will last a long time.

Yeah, you really should check the old posts for some more details, but as far as cleaning the hose goes, fold it in half and beat it against the wall or floor, and then run water though it, blow air through it. Then, unfold it, drop one end loose toward the ground, hold it in the middle, and swing the other side around like a whip. Then point the other end at the floor and do the same thing. Then, repeat the process. This knocks the resin loose, rinses it out, and shakes the water out of the hose.

I really need to make this into a video.
